So, everyone who grows up in Texas (which I can probably claim to have done, having lived there from the age of 8 until I went off to college) has–at one point or another–their springtime pictures taken in the blooming bluebonnet fields.

Except me.

I’d seen them, for years. I’ve seen friends’ pictures. But I’ve never had my photograph taken in them, nor had I taken photographs of them… until now.

When I spent several days in Texas in March, I had a little time to kill (maybe 30 minutes) in the middle of the day, and the bluebonnets were in bloom. So I grabbed my camera and stole a few shots. Enjoy!

P.S. – If you think I snuck into the middle of some glorious field to get these shots, you’re wrong. This was a wide shoulder on the side of a 3 lane (each way) highway. It’s all about the angles!
